Dog Bites
Under §3342(a) of California civil law, one must generally prove the following circumstances in an action for injuries sustained as a result of a dog bite:
- The defendant owned the dog
- The plaintiff was bit by the dog while they were lawfully on public or private property
- The plaintiff suffered injuries because of the dog bite
- The defendant’s dog was the cause of the injuries
